Uttarakhand is a state located in the northern part of India. It was carved out of Himalayan and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh on 9th November 2000, becoming the 27th state of the Republic of India. It borders Tibet on the north, Nepal on the east, the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh to the south, Haryana on the west and Himachal Pradesh on the north west.
The region is traditionally referred to as Uttarakhanda in Hindu scriptures and old literature, a term which derives from Sanskrit uttara meaning north, and khanda meaning country or part of a country.
In January 2007, the name of the state was officially changed from Uttaranchal, its interim name, to Uttarakhand. The provisional capital of Uttarakhand is Dehradun which is also a rail-head and the largest city in the region.

My position, My native can never change me …
I was in a good position with a nice earning in the capital city 'Delhi'. As I was addicted to alcohol, I was forced to move from the city! I came to my native village Motichoor at Uttarkhand! Though the place changed, my life did not change! I developed ulcer due to my addiction. When we were in great distress, the gospel through the worker Sanjay reached us. I received complete deliverance in the body, spirit and soul in the Name of Jesus. From then on, our hearts are for Jesus! Our home is also opened for all the loving hearts that worship Jesus! We have decided to live the rest of our lives for Jesus and all those who do not know the gospel! - Sankar and Saraswati
